The Hive Self Storage recognises the important work of charities/voluntary organisations and how much our local communities rely on these charity works.
We have supported many charities with discounted or free storage from local Scout Group through to the Notts First Responders to a group collecting supplies to take to Ukraine.
Backing Nottinghamshire First Responders: Caring for our CommunityNottinghamshire Community First Responders are a group of over 30 local volunteers recruited, selected and trained by East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust to BTEC level 3 and 4 standards in the First Person On Scene qualification
Retford helps UkraineAt The Hive Self Storage, we are proud to support Retford helps Ukraine, a dedicated group of volunteers from Poland, England, and Ukraine who came together with a shared mission: to provide vital aid to those affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. This incredible team works tirelessly to gather, store, and organise much-needed supplies, including medication, sleeping bags, generators, clothing, and essential foods.
Through fundraising efforts and coordinated deliveries, they ensure these critical items reach the people who need them most. Their selfless dedication inspires us, and we are honored to contribute to their vital work in supporting communities impacted by the conflict.
Supporting Sloswicke’s AlmshouseTwo of our directors are proud trustees of the historic Sloswicke Almshouses, a charity dedicated to providing housing and support for those in need. As part of our commitment to the local community, we also offer our office space as a meeting room for their regular gatherings.
We’re honored to play a small part in supporting this vital institution, which has been a cornerstone of care and compassion in our area for generations.
Supporting Muddy Fork: Gardening for Better Mental HealthWe are proud to support Muddy Fork, a local charity that helps people improve their mental well-being through therapeutic gardening. By creating a safe and nurturing environment, Muddy Fork empowers individuals to reconnect with nature, gain confidence, and build resilience.
In addition to collecting donations through the sale of our Bee Bombs, we also sell the delicious honey produced by the Muddy Fork. Together, we’re not only helping to protect the environment but also making a positive impact on the lives of those who need support.
During a very stressful period of an upcoming house move the team at The Hive Retford were so helpful and accommodating, they really helped with reducing one of the problems I needed to deal with. All of the ladies I spoke to were polite, and knowledgeable in terms of what size unit would be required and what they could do if more was needed. When it came to moving day, the units were clean and well maintained and we took advantage of their Luton van which helped make the job much easier. I would definitely recommend their service.
We rented 2 containers from Hive in Gainsborough over several months whilst moving house. I cannot praise their professionalism enough. The customer service was always second to none along with the bonus of cheerful, friendly staff. ?Thank you Hive!
Fantastic clean heated indoor storage rooms with really easy but very secure access. The staff are very friendly and efficient, run the company in an environmentally friendly manner, and support a number of local charities. Next time we need storage, we won't hesitate to return here.
We have rented 2 storage containers over the course of the last 4/5 years. The security of the site is first class and all procedures from the initial hire to the return of the deposit have been dealt with very efficiently. We won't hesitate to use Hive again.
